Improve antenatal care attendance through gender mainstreaming activities.

WHO recommends at least 8 ANC visits for every pregnant woman to improve maternal and child health outcomes. However, in Uganda and Iganga in particular ANC4 coverage still lies low 74% (UDHS, 2016). This has led to persistent high maternal and infant mortalities at 343/100,000 live birth and 31.9/1000 live birth respectively (WHO, 2020). This is attributed to gender disparities and gender inequalities, Low male involvement, poor community attitudes, low knowledge levels of both men and women.
